Why buy a Suzuki Swift?

A low purchase price, sleek styling and good handling – the Suzuki Swift has no shortage of road appeal. Under its good-looking bodywork you might find a smaller 1.2 litre engine which is smooth and eager to perform; or, in the Swift Sport, a 1.6 that boasts a six-speed gearbox, reaching 60 mph in 8 seconds.

Aside from its sporty exterior, the interior styling is handsome with sufficient storage – a large glovebox, centre console cubby and deep door bins. Boot space is limited to 211 litres but fold back the rear seats and you’ll increase the load capacity to 892 litres.

Power and speed: Suzuki Swift Sport

With a 1.6 litre engine, six-speed gearbox and improved drivability; the Suzuki Swift Sport has more power than ever before.

It has a sportier exterior style to match – expect twin exhaust tailpipes, 17-inch alloy wheels and a roof spoiler.

It looks the part and performs well and although it’s still an affordable model, running costs are higher than other Swifts, with it averaging 44mpg combined.

Little luxuries: Suzuki Swift SZ3

Little luxuries: Suzuki Swift SZ3

Added luxuries such as air-conditioning and Bluetooth make the SZ3 a more desirable choice. But with it comes an increased price tag compared with the SZ2.

At first glance, it may look identical to its former models, but the SZ3 is actually 90mm longer and 10mm taller than before, with redesigned front lights, a more upright grille and revised rear end.

High specification with a playful character, the SZ3 is luxurious and stylish.

Easier on the bank balance: Suzuki Swift SZ2

Easier on the bank balance: Suzuki Swift SZ2

Despite being an entry-level model, the SZ2 has good spec; featuring electric powered front windows and mirrors, airbags at the front and at the side, plus the added safety feature of an alarm.

Each model of Suzuki has its own unique characteristics – the SZ2’s main selling point is value for money, given the extras included for the purchase price.

Cheap to buy and reasonable to insure – you’ll find the best value cars on the used market.

I have the Sport which looks good and is nippy and easy to drive. Bluetooth and USB both a bonus.
I'm small (5'1") and as yet haven't found a seat setting that is 100% comfortable for me, the seatbelt is always slicing into my neck.
