Why buy a used Nissan?

Across the range as a whole, Nissan has pretty much got every base covered. The Micra is well-priced and compact, the Juke is stylish and nimble, and the Qashqai is rugged. The Nissan GTR is a zippy sports car that can hold its own in terms of power and looks. In short, you’ll be able to find exactly what you’re looking for.

Nissan has received praise and acclaim for numerous aspects of its range, including reliability, economy, and safety. Whichever model you opt for, you’re getting years of pedigree and attention to detail for your money.

The Nissan Range

A reliable run-around: Nissan Micra

A reliable run-around: Nissan Micra

The Micra’s styling is distinct, while it has much more going for it than simply its looks. Prices start from under £4,000 on the used market and rarely get close to the £10,000 mark, so it represents real value for money.

It’s a sensible car too, and scores points for safety. If you’re primarily looking for something to take you from A to B, you can’t go wrong here.

A style supreme: Nissan Juke

A style supreme: Nissan Juke

The Juke is a real head-turner, which is one of its biggest draws as a car. It’s priced well on the used market too, with even the most expensive Nismo models being available for under £15,000.

Its real draw comes in the form of two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive options, though. Drivers who want looks without paying top-of-the-range prices will want to opt for the 2WD version, while the 4WD is ideal if you’re likely to be doing a bit of off-roading from time to time, or just fancy the power.

A robust drive: Nissan Qashqai

A robust drive: Nissan Qashqai

A step-up from the Juke in terms of size, the Qashqai is similarly available in 2WD and 4WD options, meaning that you can go as cheap or as expensive as you like within the range.

Prices start from £7,000 when used, while spending just a couple of thousand pounds more will get you a few extra trim pieces on the exterior and a set of larger wheels, making the Qashqai look that bit more impressive.

Ample boot space: Nissan Note

Ample boot space: Nissan Note

Particularly with the latest model, the Nissan Note makes an interesting alternative to the larger superminis with its flexible cabin. A high-spec version of the latest model can easily be picked up for less than £7,000. Even with the entry level model, the Visia, you get great value for money with cruise control and Bluetooth connectivity.

The second generation Note went on sale in 2013 and was given a much more appealing appearance and an interior very similar to that of the Qashqai. Early models include a choice of 3 engines (1.2-litre 80PS petrol, 1.2-litre 98PS DIG-S petrol, 1.5-litre 90PS turbo diesel), manual or CVT transmission and 3 trim grades (Visia, Acenta and Tekna).

A recent study has shown that women have become more independent and influential when it comes to car buying. Whether choosing for themselves, or having an input in the car buying decision of most males, it’s clear that women have a lot of sway when it comes to acquiring a new car. We decided to tap into this statistic by interviewing three of our female employees to get the lowdown on their motoring preferences.
