Why buy a used Fiat?

A trusted manufacturer with a reputation as a leader of city cars, Fiat has been awarded the title of European Car of the Year more times than any other thanks to the Panda, Punto, Bravo and 500 – Fiat’s most successful city car, now in its second generation. The bottom line? Fiat produces some of the best loved small city cars on the market.

From the reliable Fiat Panda to the attractive Fiat 500 – it’s a versatile brand with a focus for producing affordable, stylish cars. Retaining their value well, Fiat is the go-to supplier for the urban explorer.

Small-scale style: Fiat 500

First produced by Fiat in 1954, the new generation 500 features many of the original signature characteristics, but with a modern-day-twist. Instantly recognisable, the Fiat 500 is fashionably retro – a quirky choice.

The design is undoubtedly the brand’s biggest selling point – part fashion accessory, part car – but practical too. In contrast to the original model, the new generation 500 is deceptively spacious and comfortable, boasting a 185-litre boot.

Designed for city driving, the Fiat 500 is by no means intended to be a fast car, though they are value for money. The TwinAir model, which has CO2 emissions under the 100g/km threshold, is tax free.

Not only are Fiat 500s cheap to run, they hold their value well.

Cheap to run: Fiat Punto

Cheap to run: Fiat Punto

A compact car; launched in 1993, the Punto is now in its third generation.

Although not as quirky in design as the Fiat 500, the Punto lives up to the stylish Italian manufacturer's reputation for small and attractive cars, competing with the best of its class in regards to low running costs and practicality.

A good performer, the Punto has an efficient engine, sharp brakes and sleek handling, while its small size makes it easy to manoeuvre.

There's an ample amount of storage space. Despite the 275-litre boot being small in comparison to its competitors, it does offer 1,030 litres of total storage space (when the rear seats are folded back).

Plus, there’s plenty of storage compartments in the well finished interior of the car – versatile for family travel.

Small but spacious: Fiat Panda

Small but spacious: Fiat Panda

A popular, friendly, small car, for more than 30 years the Fiat Panda has appealed to city drivers thanks to its versatility and accessibility.

The newer model Panda is more ergonomic and fuel efficient with an improved design. The softer contours improve the car’s aerodynamic efficiency, but it’s really the attention to the little things that set the Panda’s style – you’ll find the the word ‘Panda’ quietly cropping up in the rear light covers, and in parts of the cockpit. Although not to everyone’s taste, they’re small touches that all combine to give a sense of playfulness and fun.

Low insurance, emissions and reduced fuel consumption give the Panda a financial advantage.
