What is Audi S Line?

Audi S Line is the most sought after trim and is available across the whole of Audi’s range. It’s the top-spec trim - aside from Black Edition on older models, which itself is S Line-based - and gives the car several sporty features. Although there are slight variations depending on the car you choose, they all have the following in common and cost around £2,500 from new:

Exterior features

The most obvious feature of an S Line model is the badges that decorate it, usually stuck on the front wings. They’re also treated to more aggressive looking S Line design body styling, larger air vents and deeper skirts that make the car look lower and distinctive compared to lower-spec counterparts. Definitely more eye-catching too.

The headlights also get an upgrade to Xenon Plus headlights with automatic/dynamic, headlight range control, LED daytime-running light strip and headlight washers. Also includes LED rear lights, LED brake lights and LED rear indicators (dynamic indicators on newer models).

Wheels and suspension

All S Line models have larger alloys than the next trim down and fill the wheel arches better. The suspension is upgraded to sports suspension; lowering the car by 20mm and offering stiffer spring settings and shock absorbers. S Line suspension lowers the car by a further 10mm on top. Customers buying from new have the option to deselect this upgraded suspension and downgrade to normal.

Side by side, the differences between the S Line and a lower spec model are quite subtle. The steering wheel is upgraded to a flat-bottomed, 3-spoke, leather multi-function wheel. That’s not all, the seats are embossed with the S Line logo and you can find S Line sill plates with the logo too. Tech-wise, extras such as sat-nav and Bluetooth remain optional, although the latter is more common on newer models.
